About Taamara Trails
At Taamara Trails, we craft unforgettable journeys through the Himalayas of India, Nepal, and Bhutan — a region where nature inspires awe and every trail carries a story. Founded and led by professional mountaineers with over a decade of hands-on experience, we are more than an adventure company. We are a close-knit community of explorers, nature lovers, and high-altitude specialists dedicated to creating meaningful, safe, and sustainable mountain experiences.
Our Story
Taamara Trails was born in the heart of the mountains — shaped by years of leading treks, summiting peaks, and building deep relationships with the Himalayan landscape and its people. Through countless expeditions and shared sunrises above 5,000 meters, one truth became clear. What makes these journeys truly special isn’t just the terrain, but the transformation that comes from pushing personal boundaries and reconnecting with nature.
Guided by this belief, Taamara Trails was created as a company driven by values, not volume. We don’t simply take you to the mountains — we walk beside you, guide you with care, and immerse you in the culture, spirit, and timeless wisdom of the Himalayas.
Rajeev Rawat
Founder And Lead Guide
Born and raised in Uttarkashi, a small town in the Garhwal Himalaya, Rajeev’s connection to the mountains began in childhood and naturally evolved into a lifelong calling. After completing his education, he undertook the Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Courses, along with the Instruction course, at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi, where he trained as a professional mountain guide.
Since 2012, Rajeev has led trekking, mountaineering, and cycling expeditions across Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Gahwal, Kumaun, Sikkim, and Nepal. He has guided multiple high-altitude expeditions to prominent Himalayan summits, including Mt. Kun (7,077 m), Chamser Kangri (6,620 m), Mentok Kangri, Stok Kangri, and Kang Yatse, among others. His experience spans both expedition-style and commercial journeys, working with international and Indian adventure organisations and diverse client groups.
Rajeev’s approach to guiding is grounded in safety-first leadership, patience, and deep respect for the mountains. He believes that meaningful adventure comes from moving mindfully through the landscape — allowing time for acclimatisation, learning, and genuine cultural connection. Calm under pressure and attentive to individual needs, he focuses on creating journeys that are not only technically sound but also personally transformative, leaving travellers stronger, more aware, and deeply connected to the Himalayas.
