Key Highlights

The Pangarchulla Peak Trek is a rewarding high-altitude journey in the Garhwal Himalaya, offering a rare combination of alpine meadows, forested trails, and a true summit experience. Beginning from the ski slopes of Auli, the route moves gradually through the expansive grasslands of Gorson Bugyal and into quiet oak and rhododendron forests. As the trail rises, the landscape becomes increasingly alpine, leading to Khulara, a high camp set beneath the imposing ridgeline of Pangarchulla Peak. The trek is carefully paced, with dedicated acclimatisation and preparation time before the summit attempt. The final ascent to Pangarchulla Peak (4,593 m) involves a steady snow climb, culminating in panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Hathi–Ghoda, Chaukhamba, Kamet, and the surrounding Garhwal ranges. The descent to Dhak Tapovan completes the journey as a traverse rather than a return route, offering constantly changing scenery and a sense of progression through the mountains. Designed for fit trekkers looking to step beyond classic Himalayan trails, Pangarchulla is an ideal introduction to snow summit trekking—quiet, scenic, and deeply immersive.
