Key Highlights
Standing on the Roof of Africa as the sun rises across the continent is a moment that stays with you forever. It is a powerful reminder that limits exist only until you challenge them — and that the confidence you gain on this mountain travels with you long after the descent. Mount Kilimanjaro is not just about reaching the highest point in Africa; it is about discovering who you become along the way. Rising to 5,895 metres, this iconic peak stands among the legendary Seven Summits, representing resilience, transformation, and personal triumph. Climbing Kilimanjaro requires no technical mountaineering skills. What it demands is belief — the determination to take one step at a time, the patience to adapt, and the courage to keep moving forward when the mountain tests you. Each day on the trail teaches humility, focus, and quiet strength. With us, Kilimanjaro is more than a trek. It is a carefully guided journey, designed with safety, expert support, and proven acclimatisation to give you the best chance of success. From lush equatorial rainforests to vast alpine deserts, and finally to the icy crown of Uhuru Peak, the mountain reveals new landscapes — and new versions of you — every single day.
Detailed Itinerary
Your journey begins on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, followed by a transfer to Moshi — a lively town nestled at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. In the evening, meet your expedition team for a detailed briefing, equipment check, and route overview. The excitement builds as you prepare for one of the greatest climbs of your life.
Overnight: Hotel in Moshi
The adventure officially begins as we enter Kilimanjaro National Park at Machame Gate. The trail winds through a dense rainforest filled with towering trees, moss-covered roots, and the sounds of birdsong. Warm, humid conditions give way to a steady climb toward Machame Camp, setting the pace for the days ahead — slow, steady, and purposeful.
Trek: 5–6 hours
Overnight: Machame Camp (tented)
As the forest thins, the landscape opens into wide moorlands. Giant lobelias and senecios dominate the scenery while expansive views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau unfold. The air becomes cooler, and your body begins its natural process of adapting to altitude.
Trek: 4–5 hours
Overnight: Shira Camp
One of the most important acclimatisation days of the climb. We ascend steadily toward Lava Tower, crossing 4,600 metres before descending to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” approach significantly improves acclimatisation and summit success. The dramatic Barranco Valley welcomes you with stunning views.
Trek: 6–8 hours
Overnight: Barranco Camp
The day begins with the famous Barranco Wall, a fun, hands-on, but non-technical scramble. From the top, sweeping views of glaciers and valleys reward your effort. The trail then crosses alpine desert terrain toward Karanga Camp — a peaceful and strategic stop before summit base camp.
Trek: 4–5 hours
Overnight: Karanga Camp
A short but steep ascent leads to Barafu Camp, perched high above the clouds. The terrain becomes stark and powerful, signaling the proximity of the summit. After an early dinner, rest and prepare for the midnight ascent. This is the calm before the greatest challenge.
Trek: 3–4 hours
Overnight: Barafu Camp
We begin the summit push around midnight under a sky filled with stars. Step by step, breath by breath, the climb leads to Stella Point at sunrise. From there, the final ridge walk brings you to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa and one of the Seven Summits. After celebration and photographs at the summit, we descend carefully to Mweka Camp, carrying the pride of an extraordinary achievement.
Trek: 10–14 hours
Overnight: Mweka Camp
The final descent takes you through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you receive your official summit certificate. A short drive returns you to Moshi for a hot shower, rest, and celebration of your success.
Trek: 3–4 hours
Overnight: Hotel in Moshi
After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey. You leave Tanzania with unforgettable memories, a summit certificate, and the confidence that comes from standing on the Roof of Africa.
